Project objective: Development of mechanical joining innovations to replace conventional fasteners in aerostructures (Block Structures philosophy).
The goal of the project is to provide the Polish industry with a simpler version of complex aerostructures using a one-step assembly approach referred to as Block Structures by creating mating surfaces that “interlock” with each other, reducing the number of components and costs without impairing functionality and performance. The types of structures addressed by this approach are thin-walled semi-monocoque parts.
